General information prior to using Tax Notebook Toolkit & Tax Notebook:

** Browsers Supported by Tax Notebook Toolkit:

Internet Explorer 5.0 or higher (we recommend IE 5.5 with Service Pack 1)

Netscape Navigator is NOT supported

Macintosh is NOT supported

** Browsers Supported by Tax Notebook:

Internet Explorer 4.0 (Service Pack 2) or higher

Netscape v. 4.73 or higher (Version 6.0 is not supported)

Macintosh is NOT supported

** Browser Settings

Cookies must be allowed

JavaScipt must be enabled

** Getting Started

1. Install Tax Notebook Toolkit via e-fx version 2000.04000.

2. Make sure the 2000 Pro Forma files have been created through Production

Processing/Processing Pro Forma option.

3. An account profile must be set up by going to prosystemfx.com /

Customer Service / Account Administration, if not previously established.

4. After a ProSystem fx Administrator has been created, log into the 2000

Internet Tax Notebook Toolkit Icon.

5. When prompted, provide the prosystemfx.com Administrator's password.

6. Use the Tax Notebook Toolkit Configure Firm and Customization options

to establish firm preferences and to identify user ID's and passwords.

7. After configuration is complete, use the Tax Notebook Toolkit Process

page to create Tax Notebooks or tax returns from completed Tax Notebooks.

** Information displayed in Tax Notebook

The following Pro Forma information is not displayed within the Tax

Notebook but carries to the Tax Return:

1. State information (Estimate information will display within the

Notebook).

2. Depreciation entered on C-4, C-5, E-3, E-4, F-4 and F-5 on expanded Tax

Notebooks. (Depreciation entered on the DP-1 interview form series will

display within the Notebook.)

3. Depletion information entered on Interview Form E-6.

4. Intangible information entered on Interview Forms INTG-1 & 2.
